These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (the “Terms”) govern the sale of products on the website leligne.com (the “Site”) to consumers residing in the European Union. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
These Terms apply only to consumers, defined as natural persons acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, or profession. Sales to professional customers are governed by separate B2B Terms.

2. Scope and acceptance
These Terms apply only to sales of Products to consumers — natural persons acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, or profession. They do not apply to buyers acting in a professional capacity, whose purchases are governed exclusively by our separate B2B General Terms and Conditions of Sale, regardless of which terms are displayed or accepted at checkout. By ticking the acceptance box at checkout and clicking the order confirmation button, you accept these Terms in their entirety.
The version of the Terms applicable to your order is the version in force on the Site at the time you place the order. We may update these Terms at any time; updates do not affect orders already placed.
These Terms are available in English and French.
3. Definitions
- Consumer or you: any natural person acting outside their trade, business, craft, or profession.
- Order: a purchase request submitted by you through the Site.
- Products: the items offered for sale on the Site.
- Site: the website leligne.com.
- Working day: any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday in Portugal.
4. Products
We offer linen cushion covers and cushion fillings, and may add other home textiles in the future. Each product is presented on the Site with a description, photographs, available sizes, and price.
Photographs are provided for illustrative purposes. Slight variations in colour, weave, pattern alignment, and surface texture are inherent to natural linen and to the small-batch printing and sewing processes we use. These variations are part of the character of our products and do not constitute defects.
Products are offered subject to availability. If a product becomes unavailable after you have placed an order, we will inform you promptly and refund the corresponding amount.
5. Prices
Prices are displayed in euros (EUR), inclusive of all applicable taxes, and exclude any delivery costs which are shown separately at checkout (where applicable).
We may change prices at any time. The price applicable to your Order is the price displayed at the time you confirm the Order.
Promotions and discount codes, when offered, apply only under the conditions specified at the time of the offer. Any refund will reflect the amount actually paid by you, after applicable discounts or promotional codes.
6. Ordering process
Orders are placed online through the Site. The ordering process consists of the following steps:
- Selecting products and adding them to the cart.
- Reviewing the cart contents, delivery address, and total amount.
- Confirming acceptance of these Terms and submitting payment.
Before final confirmation, you can review and modify your Order. Your Order is binding only after the final confirmation step.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (name, delivery address, email, etc.). We cannot be held liable for delays or non-delivery resulting from incorrect or incomplete information.
Once you submit your Order and your payment is processed successfully, you will receive an Order confirmation email containing the Order details. This email constitutes our acceptance of your Order, and the contract between you and us is formed at the moment this email is sent.
Orders may be placed in English or French.
7. Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of the Order. Accepted payment methods are displayed at checkout (currently processed through Shopify Payments and any additional methods listed on the Site).
All payment data is processed by our payment service providers under their own security standards. We do not store your full payment card details.
8. Delivery
We currently deliver to France, Belgium, and Portugal only. We will soon expand delivery to additional destinations.
Delivery costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout, before final Order confirmation. Delivery times are indicative and run from the date the contract is formed.
We will deliver the products without undue delay, and in any event no later than 30 days from the conclusion of the contract, unless a different period is agreed. If we fail to deliver within that period, you may grant us an additional reasonable period; if we still fail to deliver, you may terminate the contract and receive a full refund.
You become the owner of the products upon full payment of the price. The risk of loss or damage transfers to you when you (or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you) take physical possession of the products.
9. Right of withdrawal
9.1 Period
You have 14 calendar days from the day on which you (or a third party other than the carrier, indicated by you) acquire physical possession of the products to withdraw from the contract, without giving any reason. If your Order contains several products delivered separately, the period runs from the day you take possession of the last product.
9.2 How to exercise
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by an unambiguous statement before the 14-day period expires. We recommend sending an email to support@leligne.com. You may also use the model withdrawal form set out in the Annex to these Terms, or any other form of written communication.
9.3 Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from the contract, we will refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery costs (with the exception of any supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered).
We will make the refund using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not incur any fees as a result of the refund.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the products back, or until you have provided evidence of having sent the products back, whichever is the earliest.
9.4 Returning the products
You must send back the products to the address communicated to you, without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal to us.
You bear the direct cost of returning the products. We recommend using a tracked shipping method.
9.5 Diminished value
You are only liable for any diminished value of the products resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the products. Where such diminished value is established, we may deduct a corresponding amount from the refund.
9.6 Refund timing
We will issue the refund without undue delay, and no later than 14 days from the day we receive the returned products or, if earlier, from the day you provide evidence of having sent them back.
9.7 Where the right does not apply
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products made to your specifications or clearly personalised, or to other categories excluded by applicable EU consumer law. Currently, all products offered on the Site are eligible for withdrawal under the conditions above.
10. Legal guarantee of conformity
We are bound to deliver products that conform to the contract. You benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for a minimum period of 2 years from delivery, in accordance with applicable EU consumer law. A longer period may apply under the law of your country of residence (in particular, Portuguese law currently provides for a 3-year period).
If a product does not conform to the contract, you are entitled, at no cost, to one of the following remedies, in accordance with applicable law: (i) replacement of the product, (ii) full refund of the price paid, (iii) repair, or (iv) a proportionate price reduction. We will give priority to the remedy you choose between replacement and refund, subject to product availability.
To exercise this guarantee, please contact us at support@leligne.com with your Order number, a description of the issue, and photographs of the non-conformity to facilitate processing.
We will bear the costs of return shipping when a non-conformity is confirmed. In some cases, we may, at our discretion, waive the return of the affected product and proceed directly with replacement or refund.
11. Hidden defects
In addition to the legal guarantee of conformity set out in Article 10, you may, depending on your country of habitual residence, benefit from other legal warranties, in particular a warranty against hidden defects affecting the Product, under the consumer law or civil law applicable in that country. Where such warranties exist, they apply in parallel with the legal guarantee of conformity and do not replace it.
12. Liability
We are liable for the proper performance of the contract in accordance with applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, death, or personal injury.
We are not liable for any failure to perform that results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including events of force majeure.
13. Personal data
We process your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679). For information on what personal data we collect, the purposes and legal bases of processing, retention periods, recipients, and your rights, please consult our Privacy Policy.
14. Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including the LeLigne name and logo, product designs, original prints created by Céline Richard, photographs, illustrations, and textual content, is owned by Richard & Guerra, LDA or licensed to us, and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may view, download, and print pages of the Site for personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use, including reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial exploitation, requires our prior written consent.
The purchase of a product does not transfer to you any intellectual property rights in the product or its design.
16. Out-of-court dispute resolution
Before initiating any legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@leligne.com so that we can try to resolve the matter directly.
If a dispute relating to your Order cannot be resolved directly with us, you may have recourse to alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Consumers may refer their dispute to the consumer ADR body competent in their country of habitual residence within the European Union. The list of ADR entities recognised in Portugal is available at www.consumidor.gov.pt.
Recourse to ADR is optional and does not affect your right to bring legal proceedings.
17. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to the mandatory protective provisions of the consumer law of your country of habitual residence (Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, “Rome I”).
In accordance with Articles 17 to 19 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (“Brussels I bis”):
- You may bring proceedings against us before the courts of your country of habitual residence or before the Portuguese courts.
- We may bring proceedings against you only before the courts of your country of habitual residence.
18. Modification of the Terms
We may amend these Terms at any time. The version applicable to your Order is the version published on the Site at the time the Order is placed.
